Ghana Set to Invest $250million in AI Computing Center
The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has reinstated the government’s commitment to invest $ 250 million in establishing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) center in the country.
Speaking on the launch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Friday, 24th April, 2026, the president noted that the investment in the AI hub would serve as the backbone of the country’s technology.

He added that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub will serve as a research, innovation, enterprise, and services hub in modern technology as the leading technology hub in Africa.
The President further added that, the establishment of the proposed AI center shows the government’s commitment to empowering technology in the country.
The president stated that, the government alone cannot finance the project as he calls on stakeholders to help in building the AI center to boost technology in the country and beyond.
“Success will need robust partnerships among the state, academia, civil society, industry, and our development partners,” he said.
