Assemblies of God Church Ghana Shutdown Abundant Life AG Amid Leadership Dispute
The Assemblies of God Ghana through its Executive Presbytery (EP) has ordered the closure of Abundant Life Assemblies of God over tension arising amid the selection of leadership for the church.
In a statement conveyed to the church by Dr. Freeman Osei-Tete the head of operations was a directive from the Church’s Head in Accra to shut down the church amid a dispute of leadership for the past three years.
This comes after the retirement of Rev. Stephen Manu and efforts have been made to elect a new leader for the church from the Executive Presbytery of Bohyen Assembly.

According to the eyewitness report, the leadership of the church has taken over to sign cheques without mandate from the Assembly headquarters.
In the attempt to close the church was unsuccessful as the leadership reacted aggressively towards the EP causing chaos at the church premises.
The Ghana Police Service was invited to the scene after which the church was successfully closed around 9:00 am in the morning on April, 19, 2026.
Police personnel have been stationed at the church premises to ensure calm as the EP says the closure is temporary and the church resumes on 26th April, 2026 for the newly appointed board to take over while the old board has been dissolved.
