The Minority in Parliament has called for the removal of the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor over the ongoing challenges in the energy sector.
Honourable Michael Kwasi Addo, the Member of Parliament for Oforikrom and a member of the Parliamentary Energy Committee speaking on JoyNews says the power crisis facing the Energy sector lies at the top of the leadership.
He added that the leader of the energy sector John Abdulai Jinapor and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) have not addressed the root cause of the crisis faced in the sector.

He further argued that the reshuffling of the lower ranks under the sector will not solve the power crisis but needs to be addressed by the leadership.
He made a call asking the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Grid Company Limited, Ing. Mark Awuah Baah to step aside for a proper investigation to address the issue.
He attributed the ongoing challenges to the debt owed by the government to the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and fuel producers which amounts to $700 million.
He cited that the government is reshuffling within the sector to reduce pressure, but is not seeking a deeper solution to the power outages in the country.
