Ministry of Health Announces Plan to Recruit 16,000 Health Workers, Pays two months arrears.
The Ministry of Health has announced the payment of two months’ arrears and the Ministry’s plan to recruit sixteen thousand (16,000) health workers into the sector.
In a press release by the Ministry, the two months of arrears paid to the health sector show its commitment to enhancing the well-being of the newly posted nurses across the country.
It was then stated that the sector is working around the clock to pay the next three months’ arrears as announced by the sector.
The Ministry thanked all health workers and its stakeholders for their patience and collective effort after the delay in the payment of salaries.

The Ministry further urges its members who are facing challenges in payment of salary to visit the Human Resources for Health Directorate and report their concerns.
Per the recruitment, the Ministry announced its plan to employ 16,000 health workers, adding that a financial clearance has been made for the first 8,000 slots as they seek the clearance for an additional 8,000 slots.
Also, the Ministry added that no recruitment would be made without financial backing and promise to ensure it is done before the recruitment.
This comes as the government urges to fill the financial gap by employing more qualified health workers in the sector to enhance proper healthcare.
