Medical Negligence Caused the Death of Charles Amissah – Committee
A three-member committee has confirmed that the untimely death of Charles Amissah was a result of medical neglect by the hospital after he sustained injuries causing serious concerns in the health sector.
Charles Amissah, a 29-year-old lost his life after he was hit by a hit-and-run driver while riding his motorcycle returning from work on February, 6, 2026.

Charles who is an engineer with Promosidor after the accident was rushed to a different hospital after the accident, such as the Police hospital, Ridge hospital, and Korle-Bu teaching hospital but was denied emergency care because there were no beds to accommodate him.
Upon transporting him to a different he unfortunately lost his life which led to the formation of a three-member committee led by Prof Agyeman Badu Akosa.
The Chairman, Prof. Agyeman Badu speaking says the death of Charles Amissah was due to the neglect from the hospital citing that the death was caused by excessive blood loss in the upper arm and not the incident trauma.
“Charles Amissah died of exsanguination, excessive loss of blood, resulting from damage to the upper right arm bone and surrounding tissue,” he said.
