Supreme Court Threw Out Application to Stop Trial of Former NSA Deputy Director
The apex Court of the land, the Supreme Court has dismissed an application to halt the trial of the Former Deputy Director of the National Service Authority (NSA) facing numerous charges in the High Court for financial loss of GHS 38million.
In a statement by lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, the lawyer for the defendant (Former Deputy Director of NSA) says they filed an application to the Supreme Court seeking to stop the High Court trial while the apex court has determined to exercise its constitutional powers for acquiring the accused’s name, address, and statement of witnesses.
A five-member panel at the Supreme Court presided over by Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie threw out the application asking the accused to challenge the trial but with no reason to dismiss the high court trial.
