Four Dead, Several in Critical Condition Following an accident on the Accra-Kunasi Highway

Tragedy has occurred on the Accra-Kumasi highway at Odumase in Akyem Municipality leaving four dead while others are in a critical condition.

According to the report, the accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, May, 11, 2026 after a Mercedes-Benz passenger bus with a registration number GE 6024-22 and a private car collided.

The report says, the sprinter Benz was heading towards Kumasi while the private car was traveling from Kumasi to Accra when one wrongfully overtook leading to the accident.

Four people were pronounced dead at the spot while several others sustained degrees of injuries leading to unconsciousness.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Yawkwei Steward Morgue.

The passengers who sustained injuries were rushed to Konongo Odumase Government hospital at the emergency ward.

While others with injuries were sent to Hope Care Hospital for treatment.
