Tragic news reported earlier yesterday has it that four Galamsey operators have reportedly lost their lives after a galamsey pit collapsed at Skuumu near Gyaman-Nkwanta in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident is said to have occurred after illegal miners engaged in mining activities were working in a pit for gold but suddenly the pit collapsed on them with none of them surviving.
The people working on the Galamsey made efforts to help rescue but the efforts amounted to nothing leaving them lifeless upon rescue.

Security personnel responded to the scene after the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, May 27, with all four bodies later retrieved and deposited at the Jacobu Government Hospital morgue.
The activities of Galamsey in the country are becoming alarming every day, it has destroyed most of the natural resources such as water, plants, and land.
Despite the destruction of the natural resources it has led to numerous lives lost in the country of the young and energetic youth who could lead the country in the coming years.
