“Power Will Not Forever Be Yours” – Otumfuor Osei Tutu II Warns
His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, Asantehene on Monday, April 20, 2026, during the Asanteman Council sitting at Manhyia has issued a warning to people who use their political position to interfere with chieftaincy matters in the country.
Otumfuor during the Asanteman Council meeting speaks on the chieftaincy dispute in Sampa where the council arbitrated it and ruled in favour of Nana Sampa Gyafla as the true occupant of the Sampa stool.
“Despite the court ruling of recognizing Nana Sampa Gyafla as the true occupant of the stool, an Ivorian is carrying himself as the royal and chief of Sampa. Sampa Gyafla will not die and will assume his rightful authority at Sampa”, he said.
His Royal Majesty also speaks on the same issue happening in Amantin where a non-royal is carrying himself as the ‘Amantinhene’ and the same is transpiring in Nkyeraa, he added.
He also criticized the paramount chiefs in Asanteman for not acting decisively in the issues happening in Bono.
“You are all waiting for the Asantehene to act, you are protecting your names. But I will fight”, he added.
