President Mahama Approves Evacuation of 300 Ghanaians from South Africa

The president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has approved the evacuation of three hundred (300) Ghanaians from South Africa following the Xenophobic attacks on Africans living there.

The exercise is expected to coordinate with the Ghana Foreign Ministry and in collaboration with the South African High Commission.

Source from the government indicates that Ghanaian Nationals leaving in South Africa were asked to register with the South African High Commission for assistance or possible evacuation due to the escalating tension in the country.

Three hundred (300) individuals officially registered for the possible evacuation with the ministry following the escalated xenophobic tension, report 

The government’s step in this exercise aims at protecting Ghanaians living in the country and abroad ensuring they are safe or brought back safely in case of a crisis.

Mahama led the administration is aimed at protecting and ensuring the safety of Ghanaians.

Authorities are expected to provide full details on the evacuation arrangement and timeline for the exercise.
